Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is interchangeable with "Relaxation Massage"

Massage flow is typically slow, using controlled long stroked to induce relaxation. Pressure varies.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance the entire body. Sessions are focused around the fascial system. Fascia wraps around every muscle, and organ in your body.

Myofascial massage is considered "deep tissue," and uses long holds on areas with muscular adhesions or "knots."

Scar Tissue Massage

Scar tissue massage is structured to focus on problem areas caused by a traumatic injury, or traumatic surgical recovery. Connective tissue can become irritated, thick, and feel "stuck" from an array of causes.

Scar tissue is the skin forming to repair the damaged skin barrier. Massage directed to aiding the body's remodeling phase uses techniques like deep friction, and passive/active movements to reintegrate the focal area to whole body function.

Hot Stone Therapy

Hot stone has a variety of reasons on why it may be utilized. For relaxation purposes, the heat is comforting and may make the massage experience feel more complete. Therapeutically, heat can be a helpful tool in (especially for deep tissue massage), by letting the therapist access deeper layers of tissue without using excessive effort. The heat loosens the tissue, which can allow more efficient, deeper work. Heat is also soothing to sore muscles, as long as inflammation is not present.

Contraindications to Hot Stone Therapy include: Open wounds or infections, Pregnancy, Diabetes, Cardiovascular disease, High blood pressure, Varicose veins, Neuropathy, Autoimmune disorders, Cancer, and Recent surgery

Hydro and Contrast Therapies

Hydrotherapies is a term used for services involving water. Hydrotherapies offered include ice massage, or hot damp towels. This service is a session add on, and needs to be planned in advance. Inquire for more information if you would like to know more about ice massage therapies. 

Contrast therapies is using both hot and cool tactics all within one session time. Clients that prefer deeper work, or clients trying to release knots would likely enjoy adding contrast therapy tactics to their session.

Cupping

Cupping is a session enhancement that helps break fascial adhesions that may be experiencing trouble with range of motion, and to help facilitate circulation to areas that feel tight and restricted.
